Accessibility Statement
for Conference and Event Management
Conference and Event Management is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Measures to support accessibility
Conference and Event Management takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of this site:
- Accessibility is considered when a page is designed, not audited in afterwards.
- Every page can be operated from the keyboard alone, and begins with a link that skips the navigation menu.
- Headings run in order on every page, so a screen reader can move through a page by its structure.
- Controls that are icons carry a text label for screen readers, and nothing is explained by color alone.
- Color schemes are tested for contrast in both light and dark settings, and the site follows the light or dark setting your own device asks for.
- Event items record whether they are accessible, and any notes about it, so organizers can publish what an attendee needs to know.
- Accessibility is reviewed again whenever a page is rebuilt.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA and Level AAA. Conference and Event Management is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Additional accessibility considerations
- Images of text are used only for decoration.
- Content written by organizers - an event's own page, its policies, its descriptions - is theirs rather than ours. We provide an editor that produces accessible markup; what is typed into it is the organizer's responsibility.
- Two-factor authentication uses a code emailed to you, which you type, rather than a sound or an image you must interpret, and needs no app or device.

Technical specifications
Accessibility of Conference and Event Management relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used. Where script is used it adds convenience rather than capability: every form on this site can be completed and submitted with script turned off.
Assessment approach
Conference and Event Management assessed the accessibility of this site by the following approaches:
- Self-evaluation.
- Automated checks of the rendered pages - heading order, form labels, control names and color contrast - run against each page as it is built.
- Keyboard-only walkthroughs of the pages people use most.
We have not yet commissioned an independent audit, and this statement will say so until we have.
